Has anyone installed their own wood floors in a slide coach, currently thinking of doing wood in living and bedroom.

Real wood is typically an issues with heights dealing with the slides. Therefor other materials that look like are normally used..... we use Karndean rubber flooring.

Check out Earnies site in the Yahoo groups. He has installed many floors and can advise on your question.

Any material you use that is less in height from the original material, is no issue. If you would like some pointers, I would be happy to help. Ernie Ekberg- installing lots of wood in coaches, without any problems

We used 3/8" thick wood flooring. Turns out the wood is thinner than the combined carpet and pad that it replaced so there was no issue with interference with the driver's side living room / galley slide. Since the couch in our '02 Intrigue covers any carpet on the slide itself, we only had to do the actual floor. We did both the living room and the bedroom as you are thinking. Actually we had it done by the travelling flooring expert, Ernie Ekberg. He does meticulous work. Give him a shout at 817-475-3991, ernietex@... (ernietex@...), or follow him on his YahooGroups website erniesremodelingandrepair@yahoogroups.com (erniesremodelingandrepair@yahoogroups.com).

Ray,

Just some "food for thought".....have you considered a cork floor? We installed it in our living area and bedroom and love it. Very easy to install.
