Hi All,

Just picked up my coach from Sky River RV in Dublin Ca who performed service and by the way i need to bring it back as they did not fix the high beams as they stated. However, as i drove the coach about 40 miles noticed i was only charging at 13. to 13.2 volts all the way. On the way home my volts dropped to 12.8. Turned on generator and made it home.
Anyone have experience as to what to check and confirm if the alternator is charging properly. My coach always ran at 13.6 and above. All recommendations greatly appreciated.
My batteries may be weakening as well, will this cause a low voltage output from the alternator?

Thanks all.

David

I have an 2006 inspire with c-9 cat engine I have obtained a replacement alternator and would like to know if any one can tell me what the external device connected to the five terminals on the alternator is for. Possibibly a noise supressor?. The new one does not have it. Thank you Jr.

Did you buy your Alternator from Cat? They have a built in Voltage Regulator! Your new Alternator must match the old one as the old terminals may be for a Tach or remote Voltage Regulator Etc. Ken Retired Cat Service Tech. 99 allure 33056.
