Just want to put this on the table. Moving to another Campground today a Escapee Park here near Port Townsend as I was heading to a site my Low Air Pressure Alarms sounded. Coach net planes to sent out a Tech in the Morning to find out what happend. No Oil or sound of Air leaking Was able to get Leveled. Open Purge Valves and no air pressure. Thought if any would help if older Owners out there have had a similar problem. Ken 99 Allure 30356.

Ken,
Hopefully it's not the compressor and most likely the governor. The governors are cheap, about 15.00 and can be found at any truck parts place, truckstop or Napa. If it's not the governor, then it's compressor time.

He them Used his truck air compressor to Fill the air tank with the engine turned off he heard air leaking. The Silver Braded hose from the Engine Air Compressor had chaffed to the Air Cond. Dryer Bracket welded to the frame. As I type this hes is out getting a Hose and more tools to remove the hose end off the compressor. So Far Im lucky as for now not the compressor. Being a Retired Cat Tech this slipped by me. Dont have X-Ray vision LOL! Anyway will keep you posted. Older Allure coach owners need to unbolt the Air Dryer from the Chasis Bracket and relocate the hose from rubbing on the Bracket! E-Mail me off line and I will E-Mail you a photo. This is a time bomb!!! Lucky for me it Faild in a RV Park and I was able to limp to a site. Will do a follow up post. Ken 99 Allure 30356.

Ken,
The same thing happened to our coach a few years ago. After installing a new hose, we sliced another hose and put it over the new hose, put 4 water hose clamps to secure it. Put a clap where the support ribs were that the tank is secured to. I now check it about every month.. So far, OK. Glad the problem was solved.. By the was, my wife was the one who heard the air leak! Bill Dane 99 Allure 30326

Lee is trouble with the fitting at the head of the compressor I said go back to your shop and He will build up another swivel coupling he said one side is JAC and the other is SAE I remember working at Cat I ran to this. He is well equipped with neat Crow's feet for the comperssor air line. He planes on building a Coupling and the new Hose with a 90 degree swivel. Yikes I helped him and said your a good Mach. But Paying him 90/per hour he will say anything! Thanks for sharing. Will do a Update post. He filled up the Air Tanks with Truck air and the Gauge is still holding air, Like you the 90 degree will clear the Dryer Bracket. Man what shotty work. Friends with our vintage coaches need to get their hose checked for chaffing on the Chassis welded Brecket. Lucky for me I was in My site when the Low Air Alarms went off. One thiing its another. Man Working for Cat this would of never happend! Ken 99 Allure 30356

Final Update, Lee Arrived with a Straight fitting to fit the Compressor, He use a School Bus Flex SS Scheilded Air line like the same as CC With the straight fitting but with a 90 degree elbow. Put it all together and I Helped him with the other end to the coach. The new hose has a 90 degree elbow and clears the Hyd. Fulid resavar bracket by over and inch. While putting the Air Dryer back he found it was ribbing the Cummins Gear housing. He then drilled the Dryer Bracket and the A/C Dryer is now inch away from the engine. As a retired Tech he did an awesome Job. His rate is 90 an hour and with three trips out here and parts custom made the Bill was 470 dollars. He was recommend bu Coach Net. I Highly reccomend him. He was an old Dairy Farmer and is a Fireman here in Jefferson County and Lives in Chimacum Wa. The Escapees here know him and like him. He has worked on many Country Coachs and other motorhomes. He is an honest Man. I will tell the Campground here put him on top of the good Guys List. Again if any interested in Photos of the Chaffed Line E-Mail me off line. Ken 99 Allure 30356.
