I use a Sears strap wrench (about $19.95 for 2 sizes)which works just fine for my filter. It's a flexable rubber strap device which has lots of other uses.

Thanks to the reminders I get from watching this forum, I'll pass along a little tip: When you are parked without use for a few months, don't forget to change the domestic water filter along with the chassis filters.. I changed my water filter in San Diego during our stay last winter, then parked the MH in my garage for four months while I did some mechanical things.
After being reminded by a note on this page, I changed mine today. YUKKK! I can't believe how it looked and smelled after non-usage. I even use an external in-line hose filter!
We're getting ready for to go for a few weeks and I'll bet I would have been sleeping with the dog (if we had one) If she got a taste of that!

Hi Larry, Intrigue 10762
I have let our coach sit for 4 months and no smell or growth in the filter or elsewhere. Your whole water system might be harboring some growth. You might consider disenfecting with clorex both via the hose bib (add 4 0z of clorex to a hose and then connect to the hi pressure water inlet) and the fresh water filler to the water tank (4 oz of clorex and fill the tank) and purge all the lines with the clorex water using the water pump. Then run fresh water through the system via the high pressure water inlet and refill the tank with fresh water once. The residual helps pervention of future growth.

I gave up on that filter years ago. I took the filter out but left the housing. I connect an external filter with a clear housing when filling the fresh water tank or using "city" water. This allows me to see what it looks like and when to change it.

What does the Inspire water filter serve? CC drawings do not show what filter is connected to.
Who sells a valve to automatically fill the fresh water tank? I want to use the new 65 PSI pump always, so a way to fill the tank automatically from city water is to be found.

We just purchased an 05 Intrigue LE 40 footer quad-slide and the specs say there is a water filter location in the water/sewer bay.
Where is it???

On our Allure, the water filter is in the compartment with the aquahot - - it's to the rear and top of the compartment...may want to check there.

Our 04 Allure has the filter installed in the compartment beneath the kitchen sink.

Look on the wall in the bay immediately forward of the water bay.
There should be a panel with a sign over it that says "water filter".
If there is a panel with no sign, remove the panel and see if there is a filter there.

Walter,
The filter system is located in the lower kitchen cabinet to the right of the stove top.
This is the one cabinet that does not move out with the passenger slide. It shares one side with back of the shower.
To access it you can pull out the drawer (using the little black slider releases). Then you can see it in the lower section below.
I tried to replace it through the drawer, but it is much easier to pull off the screwed in place faux cabinet door panel.
Hope this helps,
Russ and Jean
