Hi Folks,
In the photos section under the subject title shows a fan controller setup that can be used as replacement or backup.
The photos show the over all setup, the controller board ($11.53), reostat on top of a Sauer Danfoss valve, and scope showing the waveshape for a fan 500 rpm.
The reostat (potentiometer) comes with the solenoid controller board.
The mod made to the controller board was to lower the control frequency to 80 Hz by adding a capacitor which is what the S-D controller operates at.
The Hydraulic fan motor can be varied form 0 - max rpms and is set for 500 rpm at engine idle.
It is required that an accurate digital display of engine temperature be available to use this $25 fan controller.
The added cost is the #22 wire pair strung from the controller location to the cockpit.
