Hello

Ran our inspire through emisions and failed. I guess i will need to take it to cat next week. In the meantime i was wondering if any of you have seen why the c9 would fail. It posted 45 on particulats i think and passing was 40. Im wondering what kind of repair im looking at.

Hi Rod,

Sorry to hear about the emissions failure. Was this a state mandated test and if so which state?

Thanks,

Barney

Rod,

My 05 Inspire has the C-9 and about 65,000 miles. I had to do the Wash. state emissions test in May and it passed with a "Opacity" reading of 35 of a 40 max.
Can't answer your specific questions.

One thing was they insisted on doing the test with there staff at the controls and after a failed test i noticed the exaust brake was on so i had them turn it off. They did re-run the test and it got a couple of points better but not good enough.

Hi Barney

Yes it was the 2 year washington state mandated test. The tabs expire at the end of the month and i need to get this resolved to get tabbs before we leave town. The engine runs great so not sure what they would fix.

Rod,

Are you sure they are measuring your C-9 as a 2005. I think there were some emission controls added to the 2007's and maybe some late 2006. I am licensed in Oregon and sign a wavier every two years which is exempts me due to the coach weight.
