need to know if it is ok to bypass and run generator. Generator runs great for abt 3-5 minutes and then it cuts off just like you tuned it off. The fault is 24 which my book says is a coolant temperature sender fault. Book says you can bypass by restarting a second time. I checked the water, it is ok and the fan is running. I have a call into a mobile rv guy, but I may have to leave before he can get to me. Going back to Texas this time of year w/o generator will be brutal.. Onan 10 k

John,

Have you ever replaced your water pump belt? Its possible it has broken and your generator is shutting down because of over heating.
