I continue to have problems with this unit. It has been repaired twice this year and just crashed again. It has eaten the nav disk and will not operate because it cannot read the disk.
Question, is this unit worth saving and having repair again, or should I replace it with some other brand?
If census is to replace it, then replace with what?
Any input will be appreciated as I really do need to have a working rear camera display.

We replaced ours with a Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT when the original AVIC-N2 died after 2 years; two days before we were to leave on a 6 week trip cross country. It does not have the fold out screen and works fine. It came with an SD Card so we now have all of our music with us and no longer have to pay for Sirius/XM. Eventhough we could, we do not use it for navigation though as we have a Garmin Nuvi for that function.

Gary,
I just replaced mine with an AVIC N4. By staying with Pioneer I was able to use the same, already installed, wiring harnesses. I paid $540 for the unit new and unopened. The install was easy to accomplish.
The N4 has some really nice features. I particularly like the split screen. The screen is shared between the GPS and the camera view.
Good luck.

George, where did you get your N4 unit? I might be interested in going that route.
Thanks, Gary

My original N1 had constant problems with the back up camera. They replaced it with the N2 about 5 years ago and have never had a problem. Just up graded the maps with CNDV-110mt but haven't used it yet. AS a side note I just put a Kenwood DNX6990HD in my CR-V and it has lost all the memory 3 times in 3 months. Not happy with Kenwood so far.

My 2 cents - replace it.
There are lots of new options since that deck came out, and I think Pioneer is still a good choice. If you don't want or need Nav the price is pretty reasonable. Check out there web site http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car)
Most people now a days are going without Nav built into the unit as the portables are so practical...
I'd be happy to help you out being your in my area..(Seattle) (http://cid:1FF90E1236B54236A0564AAE37283629@JimWS)
