Hi,
OK all you owners of elderly Affinitys, mine is an 01, do any of you know who made the slide out system for the generator? Also, do any of you know how it is operated? Is it a worm gear system, or hydraulic or gear driven?
Mine works, but I can't find any info on it in regard to maintenance or repair.
Thanks for any help.
Luck
Bob

The drive unit is located on the passenger side, at the lower side of the gen unit. I believe that it is a worm gear. Mine failed about 5 years ago. It was a very easy fix. CC sent me the entire assembly. Installation required the removal of a couple of bolts at each end and wires for the electric drive motor.

I just went through a long ordeal with mine but after a ton (and I do mean a ton)of research I was able to get it fixed cheaply. Mine was originally manufactured by Warner Electric and is a worm-gear with a 36" stroke. Mine was manufactured exclusively for CC and that 36" stroke is what makes it unique.
