This handling subject has been getting some discussion so I thought I would start a new post. Here's my 2 cents worth...

Our trucks for the most part are rock solid going down the road, better when loaded obviously. The conventionals (hood) ride better then the cabovers (coe). Our front ends are spring, the rear air- ride on Nuway bags. By the way, they don't have quick response air valves that continually add and exhaust air with every bump like our CC's. When empty, really fun in KS & MO, beat you to death. There made to haul freight, 80,000 lbs., while trying to keep the driver as comfy as possible.

The Motorhome folks focus all their attention on the cushy ride to keep the dishes from rattling. The longer the wheelbase the better.
A 40' will handle a little better than a 36'(less wiggle). I drove an 03 Kountry Star, 32', and all you did was chase the steering wheel.
Longer is better.... Full fuel in our CC's make a difference.

I guess it's all in how you look at it and the various experiences.
I started out with a 26' gas Pursuit, then a 34' DP from Gulfstream, then a 36' Foretravel and now the 36' Allure. The Allure with the correct ride height, full of fuel and 110/105 in the tires seems to do real well. Give me a long WB Pete on air, 80,000 lbs, smooth roads and thats a NICE ride.... Although I'd rather be RV'ing.(fun)

Hi Dave,

The foretravel was fantastic, but didn't have any slides, although it was a wide body. I would have bought another, but the additional cost of a 36' would have been 100K + over the Allure and that was absurd. I prefer the 8 bag suspension, but the IFS turning radius on the Allure is great. Overall, were very pleased with the CC. If you want more of my likes/dislikes, let me know and I will e-mail you.
