We were told that Carefree of Colorado does not make the slide toppers with the window manual pull out anymore. Way to many problems with them. So, just trying to figure out if this makes sense. We will have to replace the whole kit and kaboddle, not just the material. Has anyone had to do this? And if so what slide top cover did you use?

We have any 05 Inspire DaVinci 40'

Thanks
Lori

Lori,

I ordered the material for the awning toppers that then manually extend over the windows in early July through Infinity Coach in Enumclaw, Wa. (they then ordered through Carefree of Colorado) I had someone help me and replaced the 2 drivers side awning material in about 4 hrs. I'm sure it can be done much faster with some experience.
I believe Carefree is reluctant to take orders from private individuals because of improper measuring and the arguments that ensue.

Lori,

I had my local RV shop do the repair on both drivers side slides. They ordered from Carfree, after they measured 3 times. They tried using the part numbers, but that would have gotten the wrong size! They charged me 3 man-hours of labor for this install.

Lori

I am dealing with the same issue. I am looking at just replacing the material on the awnings with material to be just toppers. Then add window awnings. I am tired of dealing with the pull down portion of these horrible awnings. I don't understand how CC was duped into installing these awnings.

Bill, does that mean a local awning shop can make you on the dirt or my zip Dee awnings?

I'm traveling with a friend who has an 04 Inspire. His front ride height valve is not functioning properly. He had it replaced a couple weeks ago and thought it was fixed but when he started it up this am it went to the top end and didn't adjust properly. I have read on this forum of a way to temp fix the problem by pulling a fuse or something like that. Can some one point me in the right direction for this info? Or any other ideas. Thanks

Sorry folks, I wanted to start my own thread but ended up hijacking this one. I'll try to fix it when I get to my computer and off this phone.

I called carefree before I had the covers ordered and they directed me to the tag that they use to identify the appropriate cover. I have on separate occasions ordered the drivers side main slide cover and the door cover and received the correct item. They would not send to me so I had to go thru a dealer to place the order which created a double shipping charge.
