Hi All,

Has anyone converted their headlights on a 2007 Allure to HID or any other late model CC? I have HID headlights on my car and they are so much more effective than the standard bulbs on the coach. Does anyone know which vehicle the headlights came from for a 2007 Allure? Thanks all for the information.

Safe travels!

Yes all the time. I've done lots of HID kits on coaches.
Pull a headlight out and see what bulb it takes, buy a quality HID kit and install. I recommend using the slim ballast as they seem to last longer and are watertight. If the wiring in your coach is 14 awg or bigger your usually ok not using a relay kit, just plug & play. IF the bulb your putting in is a dual (hi/low) you have a choice of hi/low kit or bi-xenon, the hi/low bulb is HID for the low & halogen for the high, it physically has two bulbs and when you switch to high beam it is actually going to be dimmer because it's halogen. Some like this because you'll always have light - until the bulb burns out. Versus bi-xenon which physically moves the HID bulb inside the fixture to change the light beam up, 1 bulb. Being the nature of the HID's that require a ballast you have 2 parts per fixture, 1 bulb & 1 ballast, and if either quit - no light. Now that being all said, I only use the hi/low kit on items such as snowmobiles & street bikes that only have 1 headlight, but on all the vehicles and motorhomes we use bi-xenon and always use the slim ballast.

The headlights in the 2007 Allure should be from a 1998-2002 Lincoln Navigator.

Al,

Thank you for the information. Do you also know where the taillights are from?

Do you know the source of the headlights on a 2006 Allure?

Just looked at these headlights. They look like the same as used in my 2005 Magma. The Euro versions are about $180 per pair. A lot cheaper than buying them as a CC headlights.

The taillight assembly is from a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck. When changing out the taillight, be careful not to damage the white plastic clips that CC glued to the body. These are no longer available from Dodge unless you buy the entire OEM assembly. They may be available in the aftermarket but I could not find them.

2006 (and newer) Allures use the same Lincoln Navigator headlight assembly. There is one 2010 Allure that did have bi-xenon headlights from the factory but I don't where that one went.

For those that want the ultimate headlight upgrade (or just have too much money), this company can redo the front cap any way you like.

Tim,

One of my light yellowed also. I used Maguires headlight restore and it did a good job of taking away the yellow. I did not use the one that used sanding. Look almost like new.

Tim,

A headlight restoration kit is worth a try. It could save you some $$$. Last year my headlights were both about the texture of sandpaper and very yellowed. I used the following "5 step" sanding and polishing kit and the headlights are just like new now:

3M 39045 Lens Renewal Kit with Protectant
The kit was about $21 (from Amazon). You only need to supply a drill that runs about 1200-1600 RPM.
I used the leftover polishing materials to clean up a few flaws on our coach's clearcoat - scuffs on the entry step panels, etc. It worked remarkably well.
