while climbing a 7% grade the engine started to scream a very loud high pitched scream. We lost most of our power and finished the climb at about three MPH in first gear. Engine temp was only 180. Turbo pressure dropped to 10. Had coach towed to a shop. Any thoughts?

Guessing air leak in turbo circuit. Could be a coupling came loose, could be a tear in a neoprene flex connection, could be leak in charge air cooler. Hearing it is the clue I'm zeroing in on; if it was fuel delivery you wouldn't hear that. Engine temp at 180 is near naturally aspirated, i.e. zero boost. Could be that engine sensed the problem and derated (probably since you only got 3mph) w/default to no boost used. That may show up in ECM codes.
If its an air leak you can likely find that at idle or high idle; check all soft plumbing first and replace w/appropriately heat rated stuff (500 degrees for boost side before CAC, at least 350 after CAC). Mike, SOB

Bob, sounds just like you've lost almost all turbo boost. Get into Engine Box and follow you Charge Air Piping and see the piping has come out of the RUBBER BOOT CONNECTORS. Also around your TurboCharger.

Was a rubber boot from the turbo. All is back together. Thanks for your suggestions.
