I'm probably more anal than most, but I have fine scratches in the 3M coating and I've searched the postings trying to find some type of scratch remover that someone posted that they used with good results. Can't seem to locate the post and wondered if so, done remembered what the product was or what people use to treat the small scratches from repeated cleanings. Wax products don't seem to help and the scratches are barely visible unless very close up. Thanks, Roger Harper

Hi Roger,

Our 2004 Allure had the 3M film applied also. When we bought the coach 2 1/2 years ago, it was in pretty bad shape. IMO, someone used a buffing wheel on it probably the same time the coach was getting a full detail.
I do not recall where I read this, and never did call and validate it with 3M, but it's supposed to have a 'clear coat type' coating on the outside of the maskant. I'm pretty sure most of my 'clear coat type' substance was buffed of...
I did buy 3M plastic cleaner/buffer, and used my hand to go up/down in a verticle method. Took lots of elbow grease, but I got most of the marks removed and the straight up and down are at least all in the same pattern. I then used a paste wax over this, and that seemed to help fill most of the straight up and down fine lines from the buffing.

It looked 80% better, but still obvious the 3M is damaged.
Since then, whenever cleaning, I always work all of by side/front/rear (including the maskant) in a verticle cleaning method. When complete, I always go over the 3M with another coat of some sort of wax. Between full coach wax jobs, like on the road when cleaning off bugs, I just go over it with a few shots of Protect All.
We have a tentative trip planned for Alaska, and when that trip is over, we'll get a few of the scrachtes and dings fixed that came with the coach. We'll have the 3M removed at that time, as I expect I will need some touch up of paints from the removal. Get it all back to a solid cosmetic baseline.
I'm still researching front end protection. Bra, 3M, Diamond Shield, Others... Maybe nothing - have not decided yet.
Good luck on your 3M clean up. Please share if you find some magic:)! Smitty
