We were just with Schwab in JC for rear tire replacement on our 99 Allure. We increased the tire size from the donut Toyo tires to Continental 275/80's which are now similar to our front tires. We'll now have to deal with the Speedo issues. We did not replace the fronts at this time because they were recently replaced on a recall because of an earlier ride height problem/adjustment.
The point of this story is that the Thimble Bolts ($3 X 20) had to be replaced on the rear hubs because they were wrong ones. They were to short. Schwab said that they were extremely unsafe. The nuts were only being held on by a couple of threats. They were amazed that we never had a problem. We think the reason for the short bolts is that the coach was delivered to Guaranty with steel wheels. Either Guaranty or their supplier, who ever put the Alcoa wheels on, did not replace the bolts with longer ones. Scary! Thank goodness this time for over-powered impact wrenches.
This might be worth checking on your coach. The bolt should be protruding 2 threads past the top of the nut.
