MY 1998 CC Allure blinds are starting to self destruct.
I need info on how to restring the blinds. Any info will be appreciated.

There are instructions and pictures in the forum files showing how to restring blinds. Sorry I don't know how to tell you how to find them. I imagine you could search for blinds. Barrie Boas 94 Concept with restrung blinds. 5111

YouTube has multiple videos on this very subject. Here is a link to one http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=398wcJoR8ws (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=398wcJoR8ws) . You might want to look at some of the others to find types of blinds that match yours. Order the cord online from someplace like fixmyblinds.com (http://fixmyblinds.com). The process is time consuming and you may need help because some parts are difficult with just two hands, but overall it is very doable. We have done 2 of our blinds with good results and we started out knowing absolutely nothing about it.

Good Luck

Larry,

If you can find the name on the blind, give them a call. We are in our 15th year of fulltiming, so the shades get used every day. When one of ours brakes., I call the maker of the blind. They instruct me to send it to them and $15 for return postage. They fix it for free. Have done this a number of times.

Larry,

When mine broke the wife went on line and found the instruction for restringing. We then went to a fabric store and got the string. It was not that hard to do! Wish you luck with your project.

Great tip on www.fixmyblinds.com... bookmarked for future reference thanks! With regard to restringing them, I did one not so long ago... I took down one that was ok and the one that needed restringing and just threaded the new cord through the holes in the same pattern... it really wasn't very hard and it worked great. I just used some fine cord from a fabric store, but in the future I think I would order the real McCoy from fixmyblinds.com
