On the 2006 Country Coach I just got the entry awning has acorns inside the motor cover. Don't know if some wires are off but I need to just remove the cover to get to the nuts. I have the carefree online instructions and it said to drill 3 1/2" holes (why) all I want to do is remove that half shell cover. I would use a screwdriver but don't want to crack something, does it just snap on and off.
Thanks for any help on this.

Floyd, I had the same problem. I cleaned all the lg debris out of my track and then used my wife's hairdryer to blow all the remaining junk out of the track. Worked well. Just don't let the dirt in the track dry. Joh/Jackie03 Allure 30951

Floyd,
I had my motor fail last May, with the awning out!! Strapped it all up until I got home, 1500 miles later. The end cap does just pop off on my awning but I would suggest you check the serial number (bathroom medicine cabinet) and call Carefree, they will tell you if the cap pops or you need to drill to access the holding bolts. Apparently the motors are susceptible to failure so you may well need a new one! They are a pain to set up the in and out maximums.

Thanks for the info, got the SN now just have to find the phone number will call on Monday. I just don't see how a person would put it together if you had to drill it out. The manual ones look better all the time.
