Hello Fellow CC Owners (and former CC addicts too),
Gents, and ladies, we've just bumped up our hourse batteries up to four Lifeline AGM's (Thanks Tom!) for 800AH capacity.
Going thru the RC7GS options for Battery Capacity. I find these options that seem to be three to consdier:
1) Auto = 110 mins Bulk Charge
2) 500Amp Hrs = 150 Mins Bulk Charge
3) 1000 Amp Hrs = 180 Mins Bulk Charge

Auto seems 'to low' - unless it has other magic where it 'Auto' senses what is going ont?

We had 500Amp Hrs set for our two previous 8D Agm Deka batteries.
Opinions please, on if I'm thinking correctly that I should go with the 1000 Amp Hrs setting? Two reasons in my thinking 1) 800 is closer to 1000 then 500; 2) The system will typcially change to 'Absorb' and then 'Float' based upon actual battery temperature and current charge levels.
So thought 1000 says 180 mins Bulk Charge, most of the time, it would set to Absorb, and then Float, much sooner then the 180 mins(???).
Warning, Warning, Warning. More questions to follow in the days ahead:)!

Thanks all,
Smitty

I did some more reading, and caught that this is just for initial start up to get the SOC a bit closer. The manual states that after several charge/discharge cycles, the system learns the battery bank size.

So, I've set it to 500Amp for now.
