Our trip this year, we will be traveling from San Antonio to Tulsa.
Looking at Google maps and regular maps....Dallas looks like a cob web of freeways. For those who have been or live in that area...it appears that if we are on 35 north toward Dallas we should take 35E directly into Dallas and continue north to get to Hwy 75.

I understand downtown traffic depends on the time you get there, is there a better way? Or just bite the bullet and enjoy the sights and sounds of Dallas...Thanks for the help.

Now sure about going thru Dallas, but if you are going to Tulsa, you need to eat at a restaurant called Spudders. It is worth the time to go there.

And right across the street is a small frozen custard place that has real home made old style custard.

Both are excellent.

I live NW of Denton, West of I35, after 35E & 35W re-combine. Having done it both ways many, many times, I much prefer 35W through Ft. Worth.

We avoid Dallas if possible. I would take US 281 north to US 380 east back to I-35, then 75 into Tulsa. We always take 380 to avoid Dallas.

Straight up I35W.

No big deal. Only a small part of it is near downtown Fort Worth. Easy.

Hi Dave. Yeah that Dallas traffic like most big cities are not something we really look forward to. If its daytime and you can arrange to cross the metroplex between 10-2 its not so bad. Couple ways to get to T Town from Dallas. Our favorite is Big D to Paris Tx to Hugo Ok there you can pick up the Indian Nation Turnpike for a leisure smooth Mountain drive to T Town. Not too much traffic most of time. Will cost you a few bucks for the privilege though. There is a New RV park near the Red River 10 miles south of Hugo that surrounds a pool of water that is pretty decent.
Good luck on the trip.
