I have 3 8D batteries - 2 house and 1 starting. We dry camp alot and I am considering adding a jumper to connect the starting battery to the house bank and hopefully gaining a 50 percent increase in house capacity. All three batteries are the same make/model/age. We have solar and are usually fully charged by 1pm.
Are there any know problems in doing this other than the risk of discharging all 3 batteries ?

I went with a stand alone CAT 8D Maint Free (highest CCA, from a tip from another member of this board) and kept the deeper cycle house batteries as stand alone (4 AGM Lifeline L16's for 800AH).
Best of luck on your whatever approach you keep end up going with, Smitty
