My 2000 Magna has the Concord OTA TV antenna with motor lift and rotation. Just recently I noticed it does not rotate completely around prior to lowering into the travel position. I've done a search and the most I've found is that perhaps replacing the springs on the single upright arm might fix this. Other solutions include adding a shim to increase the tension on the arm or deforming the spring to add more tension to the arm.
First, is adding a shim to the spring a solution or is there another solution to this problem?
Second, if there really isn't a solution for the Concord, has anyone come up with a replacement antenna that will work? I really don't want to change the location of the antenna as I would then have to patch the holes made for the Concord antenna.

Pete: The same thing happened to my Concord. Under the black cover plate on the base is a bevel gear. The rod that turns the bevel gear turns without turning the gear to turn or raise and lower the antenna. Mine started with not lowering all the way then would not turn all the way. If you Google Braund who made the concord antenna, they are now Barker and there is a manual with part nos. and you can order the gear if that is what the problem is. It is about $30.00. I ordered one but have not installed it yet. Barrie Boas 94 Concept 5111

Just finally removed the Concord from my rig. During the last eleven years it has always been a problem. Either the arms slipped on the axle and it popped up enroute, the bevel gear would not work to raise or lower the arms, or it was flopping around because it was hit by yet another tree. The arms were replaced, the head replaced, and the gear replaced.
Filling the three holes and screw holes with fiberglass last week was the least intensive repair I have ever done to that antenna.

Problem solved, I hope.

I called the manufacturer and got the same advice that I had read previously. Either shim the springs on the bottom of the single arm or bend the spring to put more force on the arm.
As the tech explained it to me, the antenna will do whatever is easier, either lower or rotate. Apparently, on the return to the 'parking' position it is possible for the force to turn the antenna to be less than the force to lower the antenna so the antenna lowers before the antenna has completely returned to the park position. Bending the spring, or inserting a shim, increases the upward pressure on the arms of the antenna and keeps the antenna in the rotation portion until it hits an internal stop at which point lowering takes less force and the antenna lowers.

Thanks for the help.
