We have a 2006 Allure with an Onan 10000 watt generator that won't start. It started a week ago just fine but since we've been traveling in freezing temperatures this week it only makes a clucking sound when trying to start it. We are extremely frustrated. Any ideas on trouble shooting? Currently we are in Union Point Georgia and it's very cold and raining. Any ideas would be appreciated....
Thank you, Mike and Corinne

I just went through that same thing about a month ago. In my case the ceolenoid between the house batteries and crank battery was bad. This was not allowing the alternator to re-charge the house batteries thus the house batteries became so weak they would not start the generator.

There are codes if you know how to get them and have a list. Cummins found that ours wasn't getting fuel because there was a hole in the fuel line. They replaced the fuel line and has been working fine ever since. Been about 3 years ago.

Have your engine running and then use your boost switch. I do this when my house batteries are down

There are Cummins Coach Care Centers in Atlanta and Augusta. The one in Augusta is closer to where you are. (about and hour from you). We have been very pleased with all the work we have had done at Cummins locations. You might try calling them if you can't get there with your coach. If you don't already have one, if you sign up for a Power Club Card for $19.95 you will get a 10% discount.

Had the same problem in North Dakota. Hold the bottom of the switch for a few seconds then hold down at the top until it starts. Trust me.
