Hello to all. I have pretty much searched all the old posts on road wandering issues and am now looking for qualified chassis Guru's in the Dallas Tx area. Can anyone make a recommendation ? Thanks

Check the bolts holding the steering box to the frame. Mine were loose or missing.
Have some one watch the steering box to frame welds.. Mine wasn't completely welded or the welds joining the two pieces of steel, just ran down one side of the fillet. I guess someone was learning to weld.
I had to turn the steering wheel from 10:30 to 1:30, once every 2 seconds to go in a sorta straight line. I took it to Country Coach Showcase in Sacramento and they took the steering wheel off and re indexed it.

You may well have chassis issues, a chassis expert will have to examine your components. If you are near Junction City OR, Country Coach Factory Service there has an all wheel alignment rig that is essential to make sure your drive wheels are aligned with your steers... tag axles too if it applies. They did my rig.
The other key ingredient is tires. Many of these rigs came standard with Goodyear 670's and I have it on good authority from several key sources that they make lousy steers. I had them on our previous 40' coach and the wandering was terrible... so on recommendation I replaced them with Toyos which eliminated the road wandering... and on my Country Coach where I have 295/80R x 22.5's, Toyo doesn't make that size and so I went with Michelin XZA-2's and the difference was night and day. I replaced all eight with XZA-2's and my rig will run down a straight flat road no hands for a minute at a time or more.

I have used Dallas Frame and Alignment on Fabens Street in DAllas for alignment of my 1998 CC Magna with excellent success. This was after trying another source in Plano that failed to solve the problem.
I also got the chassis specs for the front end and gave them to the alignment people so they would have the correct info.

Hello Joesph. I too run the Michelin XZA-2's 315. New tires 2k miles on them, running 130# of air as recommend by Butch Williams after coach being weighed in FL. I have owned the Affinity for just a few months, drove it 1000 miles from NC to OKLA and the Wandering was not too bad but seems to be getting worse. Had it aligned in Dallas (they indicated it was not out of spec) and had the Koni's readjusted to the firmest setting. I am 40' with tag. It has also been suggested that the tag could be adjusted to induce more front end weight to correct the problem, but i am inclined to think it is in the steering Mechanism.
The strangest thing about this whole issue is that while coming out of Corpus Christie last weekend ( after raising and lowering the tag in the campground a couple of time) i hit a 30-40 mile stretch of road that all of a sudden i was aware the coach was glued to the road with absolutely no wandering.
It soon returned to the fight to keep it within the white lines. There is no pull either way just a falling off of center like a camber or steering box problem.

My coach has Gillig chassis. They are still in business and I called them and they sent me the original data when they manufactured the chassis for CC. Since the chassis was 14 years old I was concerned that their alignment equipment would not have data for that chassis and I was correct. In your case that may not be a problem but I would ask to make sure when you talk to them.

They are in an industrial area and, I believe that they have a fence. They also may be able to keep the coach inside but you would have to check with them. They do a lot of truck work and may have the space.
I must emphasize that they are an old facility and not a flashy operation but I have always found their work first rate and have dealt with them occasionally for 30+ years.
