My Xandrex inverter died so we had Redlands Truck put in a Magnum Ms charger/inverter. On the way home I noticed the house batteries appeared not to be charging. I thought in the past the engine alternator charged the house batteries while we drove. I'm I am wrong?

Yes, the alternator charges our house batteries while driving.

dhl Yes, the batteries are charged thru the HD solenoid that also doubles as the battery boost switch relay. When the oil pressure reaches over 20# or so a pressure switch closes the solenoid. The solenoid is usually the culprit in this situation as CC usually mounted it incorrectly causing failure over time.
