I have a carefree awning over my entry door. The awning is in fine shape and works perfectly. During a rain storm there is a constant drip on the exterior of the door coming from the bottom of the awning casing. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to fix it? I thought of installing a piece of angled metal with a small lip below the awning case between the coach and the awning to divert the water to the side

I finally put a bead of silicon where the bottom of the awning meets the coach. No more drips in the middle of the door. Now it drips on the ends.

I just went out and looked at the awning. The gap at the bottom goes from 3/8" to 5/8" at the end with the motor. There is a large amount of what appears to be the original caulk where the electric wires enter the coach, which is holding out that end of the awning. I am not sure I could get that much caulk that you talked about to stay in the gap.
It appears that the awning is held in by a track across the top rear of the awning, and it looks like it will slide in that track If I remove the motor wires will I be able to slide the awning out towards the front of the coach? Do you know if there is any other means of attachment of the awning to the coach, other that the top track. I would like to re seal the wire anyway.
