I have an opportunity to buy a 1996 GEO Tracker (73,000 mile) that is set up to tow (manual Tran, 4X4). Can anyone give me any info/advise re this vehicle? I like the idea that it is small and light. It has a new hard top and is in OK condition. Thank you,

If the price is right, it's a good little ride... we had one. Weighs about 2300 lbs is all. Timing chain failure is common. Mine had a transmission seal leak wound up putting in a new tranny for about $2000 so have it checked out

Thank you JB. I going to have a new Timing chaining installed and have the Tracker serviced. I will be into the car for about 2,500 when done so I think I will OK.

Great car for towing, off road adventures, and general running around. We bought a '96 brand new and still have it 17 years later and still tow it. Ours is an automatic with over 160,000 miles and we love it.
