Hey,
We are new to this website learning of it at the 2003 homecoming.
Since we got back home I have been glued to the desktop reading all the messages. What a place! We have been motorhoming for 16 years and fulltimed for 13 of those years. We currently own a 2000 32'Allure #30487, non slide, about the last non slide they built I guess. This is our 4th Country Coach, and I thought I knew my way around, but our last CC was a 93, and I have become obsolete. For that reason we attended this homecoming to catch up at the seminars. I thought they were very informing, at least for this out of date.
I learned of the tie-rod recall, I checked ours and we are OK. I also heard about ride height valve location, as built 2 in front and one in the rear. That is the way ours is configured. I called the factory, and when I told the tec he seemed suprised we had not been recalled. We are the second owners and I would guess fell through the cracks. Any way he said some one would call tomorrow to tell us where we stand. My question is: how hard should I push for this. I am not an expert on handling, but have driven motorhomes over a 100,000 miles over the years, and this one seems to handle reasonably well.
The ride is smooth and level. We have the large tires, Toyo's. I carry 80# in the front, and 70 in the rear. I have weighed the coach, and it weighs 23800 with an average load. I guess I am wondering am I really going to improve anything with this update, or is it broke and needs fixing.
This went on way too long, thanks

Avery:
Our coach was built also with 2 in the front and one in the rear. The previous owner had it done. Recalls go out to the people who they can reach. Make sure you are registered with CC as a second owner.
As for the change over. If you have IFS suspension and not a one piece straight front axle the conversion is advisable. CC may or may not take the responsibility and pay for it. If you have a straight axle it probably won't do anything for you.

James, thanks for responding. Our coach is equipped with spit front end. We are registered with CC both the club and service. I have had the coach in twice to JC, twice to fix the engine fan, and once to repair a roof crack that developed where the front cap and the roof are joined. This is not uncommon I guess, although I haven't seen it mentioned on this site. It would seem almost everyone though has had fan troubles. Mine was always in full default, which would not allow the engine to reach operating temps, and would cool us down to 130 or so coming down long grades. This last fix has lasted a couple of thousand miles, so maybe its cured. As second owners we don't carry a lot of weight. They, CC paid for the parts on the fan which I am sure had never worked right, and charged us a couple of hundred for the roof repairs which I thought was fair enough. I'll let you know how this ride height thing turns out.
Thanks, Avery Sloper 2000 32' Allure non-slide
