Has anyone installed a front windshield MCD day/night window shade set up on a 05/06/07/08 Allure.
The dashboard hump prevents the shade bar from coming all the way down.
In meeting with Shaun at Davis Cabinets, he proposes pulling the sloped dash cover off and cutting it back and then rewrapping the cover. While this appears to be a simple solution, and it will work, I was wondering if anyone has done this and what it looks like. I'm concerned I might be creating something that works, but looks weird ? like a 3 legged chair.

If you check with MCD I believe they have a flexible weighted bottom arrangement that will form fit to the dash when lowered.
Think tassels along the bottom but not tassels.

We have this flexible weighted bottom arrangement and it works very well.

I do not have MCD blinds for the exact reason that you cited. I have seen several installs on the Allure and I was not impressed with the final finish of the work. I have seen the weighted bottom fix on the Allure and it always looks like a poor remodel project. I was talking to the factory last week about new curtains and raised the MCD question and was told that they are not doing many of these installs because it is so difficult to get a clean finished look. I was also given a proposal to modify the dash and declined to be the first guinea pig. If you go forward I would love to see the finished product. It is not only trying to get a professional look to fitting around the dashboard hump but also along the sides of the window.
