We are thinkg about replacing the carpet and tile in our 05 Inspire.ou g I have looked at wood and tile floorings, in your opinion which way would you go for resale? We're not planning on selling soon, but just need to update.

Thanks
Lori

If you go with ceramic, the weight may have an impact on your CCC. I weighed a 12x12 inch piece of tile I removed from a coach and it weighed 5 pounds. That is a lot of weight, for sure. Ernie Ekberg

I used Madera Tle. Looks like quarry stone but it is wood and warm and easily repaired if damaged. (No damage yet)

Lori, I will put a fly in the ointment. We just replaced our carpet and tile with a bamboo vinyl. Stopped at the bathroom, then picked up again in the lower bedroom area. Best move we have made so far. Easy to clean and seems to wear great. Our carpet was wore out and some of the tile was cracked and the grout was coming out. Also left the ceramic at the entrance. Also we did leave the carpet on the slides.

Tom,

We just got a quote from Yuma Az and they would use vinyl wood that looks real. Go from the front to the bedrooms and the 2 living room slides. Cost $9000, I think that is a little high. Your opinon plz Lori

Tom, does the A slide (driver's side front) scuff the floor when it retracts and extends? It slides on the carpet originally.

I'm not sure which would be best for resale, but I had a 2008 Beaver Contessa with large (18") tile and had a couple crack in the three years I owned it. I would elect for laminate wood floor for weight and durability.

Those quotes are a ripoff- Luxury vinyl planks are fairly inexpensive. I like the engineered wood. ERnie Ekberg- trying to save folks some serious cash

Not sure where you're at.... but, here we replace flooring all the time & most jobs are in the range of $15-$20 sqft installed. Other words, average 40ft coach at 250sqft, for entire coach front to rear including the entry is $3750 - $5000. The biggest issue which really sets the range is what's existing & what are we installing. We use many different products, but our main flooring we do most with is made by Karndean. You can look them up here http://www.karndean.com/ (http://www.karndean.com/) Is it all carpet & no tile to remove - then I'd be at the lower range. If it's lots of tile and little carpet - probably closer to the high range. Of course if you want to strip everything yourself, it'll be lower then the low range and we'll work out a deal!

I can definitely vouch for Ernie Ekberg. He will take care of any flooring needs you have in your coach, and he will treat you right. I believe he is up in north Texas still.
