We like to explore this summer Colorado and plan to go in late June from Great Dunes NP Colorado to Gunnison.
We are thinking to go CO160 West and at South Fork to take CO 149 north to CO 50. Is CO 149 safe for a 45 MH with Jeep GC in tow?

It is a beautiful drive. The challenging part is going down Slumgullion Pass. The speed limit is 30 mph. It is very doable as lots of RVs take this route. We have done it several times. The grade is around 7% with maybe one short stretch of 8%. We camp in this area every summer and ATV the trails around the Lake City area and beyond.

Both are fine. We have done them both in a 45' Monaco towing a Tahoe. The decent into Lake City will be slow but no problem. Just slow down and ride your Jake. If you want to discuss the route feel free to call me at 505-553-4234.
