Any LPG experts out there?

I carry a couple of small 1.5 gal, vertical portable propane tanks for BBQ and fire pit. However, they are a little cumbersome to store vertically in the bay. I am curious to know if it would be OK to store them on their side rather than vertically to facilitate ease of storage.
Would this harm the shut-off valve or the anti-overfill device? Daron Hairabedian, '98 Allure 30226

Jim,

Thanks for that rapid response. I am planning to store the tanks in a polyethylene plastic tub with Ethafoam separators so that they do not roll around and smack into each other. Sounds like I will be good to go.
