It appears that the over-the-road A/C condenser coil, located in the side-rear radiator area of the coach, has developed a slow leak. I have a 2001 42 B&B Affinity, # 5972. While in North Carolina, we are awaiting a call from Country Coach Parts, but I fear that it will be quite expensive to get a coil directly from them.

two questions
1. Does anyone have a contact for a company that can supply the correct replacement coil? The guy and the repair shop said that there was this number 040-00030 on the coil as well as these initials "VCS".

2. Has anyone had experience/advice about welding a crack along a seam of the coil? The guy at the repair shop said that he has not had the best experience/luck with welding the seams of a coil and therefore, recommends getting a new coil if possible.

Thanks, Denny Zarnt

Denny, This might not be an answer to you problem...but this site just happens to have a 2001 CC for salvage. The left rear side looks undamaged...might be a cheaper answer to your problem....

I developed a stress crack in one of the pipes on mine right near the coil but on the outside. I had it soldered (mine was copper) last year. It is been fine.

Don't know where you are in North Carolina but any radiator shop that rebuilds radiators should be able to re-core that AC coil. If your 2001 Affinity is anything like my 2001 Intrigue then that is an easy coil to get to and remove and the seam could be welded.
