I just had my 05 magna water system flushed out with vinegar to remove the heavy concentration of mineral deposits. I do not want to have that occur again as all of the faucets and shower were compromised. Does anyone have experience with RV water softeners? Need recommendations.

Hi All, we have used the "on the go" for 8+ years now. We would not be without it.
I put plastic quick-disconnect fittings on it for easy hook-up. I tried brass, but had corrosion problems; not sure why. The fittings allow me to loop the short hose to the other fitting on the tank and then store it in the bay on its side. No problem with leaks. Once you are used to soft water you will have no problem knowing when it is time to re-charge the softener. I use one pound of salt and it seems to last a long time. I have been told you can use two pounds, but I have not tried it.
There are other systems out there that look good. When I bought this one it was the only one I found. I am not sure it makes much difference which one you buy. However I can't imagine living without one.

I also created a faucet to attach a garden hose to so I can wash my car or coach with soft water and avoid the nasty hard water spots.
