Coincidentally, yesterday I called the company who makes the Coach Armor to ask how I should re-fasten one of the stainless steel air deflectors. He said they use double-sided clear tape. I don't know where to buy it, so I guess I'll use trim adhesive tape. Anyway, I asked if my Armor was Lexan, and when I gave him its serial number (002376 - on its label), he said that it's probably butyrate, rather than Lexan, as used on more recent products.
Since my coach is a '98, you can probably assume that your Armor is butyrate, too, and use a product with that in mind.
I'll check my archives to see if I can locate a message that mentioned "the product that was talked about sometime back ..."

Here's one of the messages from my archives. Another will follow:

From: "larry hanson" larry.hanson@...> I bought some acrylic polish at a plastic products supplier in Salt Lake. It appears that any mild polish will work. Heavy duty products will no doubt scratch the surface, but the cleaner/wax auto products work also. A good application makes it easier to get the bug off when washing. I'm told to avoid machine polishing because it might overheat or burn the surface. Good ole elbow grease does the trick. I've also used the waterless products that are commonly sold around the RV hangouts. My problem with waterless is that it works you to death! Lots of rubbing and polishing to get it off.

I use Novus plastic products. It is what the coach armor people advise using. I purchased it at a plastic supply who stated it is all they use---but they sell it. My armor was 5 years old and appeared milky. I was thinking of replacing it. Novus #1 is a spray on cleaner that sprays on & wipes off. It's ok if only trying to clean dusty shield. I use Novus #2(fine scratch remover) almost exclusively. It made my shield clear again. I redo it once a year.
Very pleased with results. They have a Novus #3(heavy scratch remover) but I have not used it.

Dick,

I too had a deflector come loose. Like you I got some auto trim double sided tape from Wal-Mart. Worked perfect. Been on for over a year and 15,000 miles.

Nothing better than stainless steel screws with cap nuts to stop the deflectors from falling off. Put three in each piece and have had no problems. Previously I had one or two fall off while the coach was parked in the garage.

From an earlier post on 8/23, Tom Harsch recommends a 3M product #051131 described as "double coated acrylic foam tape"
I haven't tried it yet, but have a record of the number and will be trying to find it. I have reattached the passenger side deflector twice using 3M plastic mounding and trim adhesive. It's the yellow "gooie" stuff that hardens like a rock. I think that's why mine came off again. It appears the proper tape would stay plyable.
I hooked mine on a bush wiggling into a camp space in Arizona back in 99. Since then, my co-pilot keeps me straight. (Just like she's tried to do for 43 years now to no avail.)

I had a problem with both deflectors coming off multiple times and called the mfgt of the armour out in oregon and they sold me a tube of the clear sealer they use to install and once I redid them with that sealer I have not had any further problems

Several of the deflectors are missing from mine and one is loose.
Could you post the phone number you called for the Coach Armor manufacturer?

Thanks.

1-541-998-3438. It was on a label affixed to the armor.

Try calling CC parts. When I was there in August, I purchased some grommets from them for my coach armor. They had a very limited supply of coach armor parts available.

Actually I should be thanking you as I too could use some new grommets and now know where to get them. This is indeed a great board.
