In line with my previous questions about air pressure, I started the engine at 5 yesterday, let the tanks pump up to 115 psi, leveled the coach with the engine running, and shut down with both needles right at 110 psi. This morning, 15 hours later, both needles are showing 70 psi. This would seem to indicate a leak, is that correct?

We can shut ours down and start it up a week later and the pressure is virtually the same as it was when shut down.

I believe your on the right track Dan, sounds like a leak. I don't know if your doing your own work or not, but with the system pumped up, that leak should show fairly easy with soapy water. You might want to start with everything thats up front first, tank fittings, lines, leveling valves, air bags, etc. There is plenty of room to get around as compared to the rear. I would raise the coach and make sure the tanks are full then squirt away, I'll bet you will find it...
Also, check the three drain valves (if you have them) as one of those could be partially open.

Hi Folks,
All four of the 3/4 to 1/2 brass reducers are leaking on the right front brake reserve tank on our coach. It is at the tank-reducer junction. CCI was using a rust color thread locker which apparently didn't work. Now they are using a white colored locker - loctite 565.
I had a failure (internal crack due to over torquing at the factory) in one of the reducers which occurred last year and replaced it myself. I unfortunately used the rust color locker and it is leaking again. With the aid of a Craftsman 1 1/8 in. box wrench and socket, ACE hardware reducers and loctite 565, I am ready to tackle the problem. I used a pressureized spray can (purchased at Harbor Freight for $8) filled with soapy water to find the leaks.

I found two leaks in mine this morning, both where the blow off valves are connected. In my coach, the blow off valves are located in the same compartment as the two air pumps, right under the driver. I teflon taped them and now it is air tight.
Awfully hard to spot leaks up under there around the air tanks.
That is a jungle! I probably have more leaks than these two, but one was pretty large.
Anybody know which needle on the air pressure guage corresponds to which tank? Now my red needle seems to be holding a lot better but my white needle has still dropped some.

If you would like to have some fun, then use some of the stuff that is intended for kids bubble blowing..it's real thick and has something in it to hold the bubbles together....mix it with a little water and each leak will blow BIG bubbles...much easier to spot than just soapy water....

Fred, The same monkey wrench twister must have assembled the air system on my coach. I replaced one of the brake tank check valves (rear) just last week because of a cracked brass housing. (Same brick hard red sealant) I guess I had better check the rest of the fittings as well.
