I am in the process of changing out my xantrex and the new remote (Magnum) calls for a cat 5 wire, does anyone know the routing of the old cable. Didn't know if it is underneath or behind the toe kick inside.

Unless I don't understand you use the same cable from the Xantrex. You do new have to change the end(s).

Marvin, my Allure 470 had the Xantrex replaced with a Magnum and I replaced a Xantrex with a Magnum in my previous coach. You can use the Xantrex cable with the Magnum but you will need to crimp new connectors on both ends. Magnum uses standard telephony wire which uses 4 wires where I believe Xantrex uses 6 wires. You can get the connectors from Radio Shack and a crimping tool from Lowes. The wire colors are reversed on the ends...whichever color is on the right on one end must be on the opposite side at the other end.
If you don't want to fool with crimping new connectors on the existing cable and wish to use the standard 4 wire cable that come with the Magnum, you can access and route the wire as follows:
1. remove side wall panels under your toilet room sink which will give you access to the backside of the panels in the wall in the hallway and the cables and wires that go from there to the battery bay.
2. extend your passenger side bedroom slide and remove the carpeted panel at the floor (three or four screws and it comes off easily. That will reveal all the wires going down to the battery bay and inverter. You can then route the new Magnum cable from the remote in the hallway, along those wires and down into the bay with the inverter.
I just had to do this to install Magnum's Auto Generator Start Module. My AGS capability was lost when the prior owner replaced the Xantrex inverter and remote with the Magnum inverter.

I just went through this and used the old Xantrex wiring and spliced new ends on the old wire. You'll need a set of crimpers for the connectors; and follow the wires carefully as the configuration was different at the two ends.

Just replaced my inverter also and had to run new cat 5 cable. Routing goes through the floor directly above the inverter. Remove the facing of the cabinet just below the drawers (about four screws) on the passeger side bedroom, this is where it comes through the floor. Remove floor and side of cabinet below bathroom sink. Now you have a clear path all the way to inverter control panel. It was not too bad as job, Good Luck.

If you had no remote RJ45 ending cable runs already in the coach, then yep, you need to pull new cable as described.
But if you have an existing remote, then you can use the existing cable. Either carefully but splice new fittings, or look online for the 'conversion From/To fittings' available.
As mentioned on an earlier post about this, which ever way you go, be sure you double/triple check the splices and fittings are attached securely... Vibration can really cause fun on these kinds of things over the years, and give you headaches on inconsistent behavior. (Ask me how I know, probably like many of you - from the school of hard knocks! I swear sometimes I think I have a PHD in 'Burn-As-You-Learn' field:)!
Best of luck, and have fun, be safe, Smitty

Marvin,
When I changed out my Xantrex for the Magnum I used the existing cable and only replaced one end of the cable so the wires reversed. Easy to do with a cable crimp tool from Home Depot and a new RJ45 connector.

Thanks for the responses, evidently my old wire had some issues with the 2812 magnum, all seems well now after replacing the remote cable. Thanks, Marvin 07 allure 31459.
