Can somebody help me with my god daughters trip to Denali Alaska. We have driven to Alaska 13 years ago and not sure which way was the least mountainist etc. Please read below and let me know if you have input.

Hi Stan,
I've never gone, so bounce this off of more experienced input. Another great resource with lots of posters, including Sue T, is RV.Net under Alaska...
We were going to run up 15N, cross over in Montana, then on up to pick up the start of the Alcan. On the way home, we were going to come back via Cassiar.
Sounds like they are on a time crunch on the way up.
Another question is how long until the Doc thinks she can fly again? If not too far out, perhaps one way rental, then fly home?
Wish them the bet of luck on their run to the North. And I'll follow the post, to see if others feel I5 and then over to the Alcan is faster.
Best,
Smitty

Stan,
We went there last year in our coach. Never really got above 6-7K feet. Our problem was at the end of the trip. As we did not leave until late June...took a month to get there and ran into the RV places closing up right after labor day. that includes the area of Yukon and BC on the way down. so just be aware. Also the Alcan highway is one to believe. never got above 25 mph for 40-50 miles due to ongoing repairs. Good luck in your travels
