Received this unit by UPS today. I will not be throwing away my big RV Park books in the near future. RV Park data and also restaurant data appear to be at least 3 years out of date for Oregon. Since we are fishing, not RVing it will be awhile before we put the unit to the travel test, but so far am wondering if it was a wise purchase.

Sharon,

Check for updates. Mine needed updates out of the box. I love mine.

Did the updates first thing, but still noticed that 2 of the better RV parks in Oregon are not listed. 1 is the Mill Casino RV Park (opened about 3 years ago) and I also don't recall seeing 7 Feathers in the list. Also, when I check for restaurants one of the restaurants listed in the Coos Bay area has been out of business for at least 3 years. That is sort of bad for something that was only released for sale a couple of weeks ago. I hope it does better on identifying routes for a big rig.

I saw these units advertised. What is the source of their RV park data?

Wondering if you are planning on calling Garmin Support. I am very interested in this unit however, I have had issues's with GPS devices locations, such as in Yelp. Would want this to be fairly accurate.

Garmin has a Facebook page, and there is information there. I saw a number of complaints concerning support on that page. I must add that the Garmin placed our address here in Oregon in the right place. I had to notify Tom Tom a number of times and it still places our address about 2 miles off.

It appears this will be another learning situation.
