Can anyone recommend a campground in the Portland /Old Orchard Beach area of Maine? Prefer quiet and don't need a lot of campground activities.

Thanks,
Carl

Old Orchard Beach has a campground, stayed there years ago and it was nice and quiet. Don't remember the name, google it. Barrie Boas 94 Concept 5111 --------

Yes Sea-Vu in Wells is outstanding and about 5 miles from Orchard Beach. I have not heard good things about the park in Orchard Beach (very crowded), call Sea-Vu.

We have also stayed at Sea-Vu in Wells, MA. in 2011 and would stay there again. There is a beautiful old church on the Atlantic coast, St Ann's Episcopal church. Stunning setting, must see in Kennebunkport.

If you want to go a bit farther north check out Stonington on Deer Isle. Its a bit secluded but it a great little Maine fishing village. We stayed at Greenlaws campground. It right across the street from the local airstrip.

We stayed at Silver Springs Campground in Saco on a Passport America rate. We had a nice site and the location was good for OOB, Portland, and Kennebunk.
