Considering the Pine unit due to the gas option. Been watching this Samsung for a year now. I'm sure it's been covered and I missed it. Silly questions, but what does one do on the road, leave the inverter on? And as I understand it, it the inverter has to be modified? And we do a fair amount of dry camping in racing pit areas. What can I expect with fresh batteries? Don't imagine it will make the weekend?

If this has been beaten to death already, my apologies.

Lon,

When I had my Inspire done I had the same concerns.
On the road Yes, the inverter. The MSW Inverter works just fine. Dry camping it helps to charge the batteries prior to "quiet time" then turn everything off that is not needed, adjust the refrig. temperature up or turn off overnight. If left on with icemaker and all settings normal the batteries will definately need charging in the morning. Increase battery capacity if you have space.
Great unit.

I was thinking of the same thing, but for me the price of shipping added on to the price of the pine unit it does not add up. When it come to the inverter the Samsung will run just fine. With the price of the Samsung RF197 at $1079 Best Buy now until 8/17 for me it is a no brainer plus you can sleep at night not thinking about a fire.

I use a residential refer and would not use a NOCLOD. If I need to run the generator so be it.

Oh yea and by the way, I have never turned my inverter off. I leave it on all the time.
