Our Allure is much more quiet when moving than our previous coach. None of the squeaking, rattling that we experienced with the Journey.
However, I do have a strange noise. It is a sort of groaning/squeaking noise that only occurs when the coach is at speed and we hit a dip in the road. Since it sounded to me like a rubber-based noise, I figured it was a dry slide seal. I dry siliconed all the seals I could get to but it did not help. I then suspected it was a suspension noise but it sounds like it is coming from inside the coach toward midships to the rear. If DW could drive this beast maybe I could wander around and isolate the noise.
Of interest is the fact that when we were recently traveling in a lot of rain, the noise disappeared. The coach was very quiet. The next day when things dried out, the noise re-appeared.
Anyone with an Allure ever had this or any ideas are appreciated.

Gary:
I would suspect the front torsion bar bushings, they have dried out and need lubrication. CC solved my problem by installing zurks. Once a year I shoot them with marine grease.

I use silicone spray on all the bushings on sway bar, shock bushings and the rubber mounts attached to the frame. I do this at least twice a year and no more squeaks.

We replaced rear bushings. They were beginning to wear. We also had a U-bracket on the front break and replaced both of them with more heavy duty fabricated ones. We also grease ours annually.

Sounds like to me its your IFS sway bar snubbers need to be lubricated or replaced. An experienced tech can do it in 30 minutes.

I will be taking the coach to my local Cummins Coach Care shop next week to have them install my new Koni SP3 shocks on the front. I will ask them to lube anything rubber related to the sway bars, etc. Is there something better than silicone that I should ask them to use?
Thanks. Gary

We've had these noises too. Sounds like a creaking old ship. You just can't beat that custom tuned DynoMax chassis can you. Me thinks this is the rubber grommets and bushings. The bushings get rusted and partially seized at the extreme ends of their rotation. Pressure builds up in the rubber and eventually overcomes the friction. When the bushing breaks loose, it creaks and groans. Water offers some of the bushings lubricity. But simply leaves behind more dirt and rust when it evaporates. Then the noises return. Not sure what this impeding friction will do to the rubber grommets over time.
I've sprayed the bushings with WD40 and had good results. Its penetrating action helps as many of these bushings are somewhat buried.
But it's yet another maintenance item as the WD40 leaves the bushings and needs to be reapplied. Somewhat of a PITA as you need to get under the bus. If we're on a concrete pad (which is rarely) I run it up on blocks and get under there with my creeper. Just my theory and experience on this situation with our bus.

I got under the coach today and sprayed every rubber bushing I could fine with silicone. I did notice that the U shaped brackets that hold the big bushings around the front torsion bar have what appears to be threaded holes in the top of the bracket. I am thinking they were/are for zerk fittings. I may just install a couple of zerks there and give them a periodic shot of grease.

I had the same problem with my 08 Inspire. Silicone did not work but WD40 does. To replace the bushings is about $1500. What also helped was some new stiffer shocks which reduced the bouncing and thus dampened the noise.

Go to the files section of this group and look for "IFS Maintenance.pdf" Seems if you follow the procedures listed in it, you should cover your problem somewhere along the line.
