Does anyone know where I could purchase a replacement lit grab rail that is installed at the coach entry? Mine is pretty badly crazed & would like to replace it before it breaks.

TIA

I think the handle will depend on if it has 2 or 4 screw hole holding each end. If yours has the 4 hole set up you might be out of luck. The 2 hole handles will not match up with the original requiring some paint work.

Do check with Kevin as he does have a lot of sources.

The crazing of the acrylic is accentuated by the internal light but, I think it is mostly a cosmetic problem. It is caused by internal stresses set up by the heating and bending and cooling process. The acrylic bar is a very thick and strong material.
Has anyone ever heard of one of these handles actually breaking? Daron Hairabedian 98 Allure

Keven Waite has the handles and the light assembly.

We were recently in Junction City and our outside acrylic grab handle was also quite crazed. We picked up a new handle from Country Coach for about $25. I compared all the ones they had on hand and they were all just a little less than 1/8 inch shorter than the original handle. I attempted to make it work but although it looked nice it was loose and wobbly. I even consulted with Kevin who suggested adding some putty tape but since that is soft the looseness would just develop a little later. One solution would be to re-drill the screw holes in the lower bracket but since those new holes would be within 1/8 inch of the old holes, there would be no screw strength. Perhaps the whole handle (top and bottom brackets) could be relocated far enough away from the original holes so that the screws could grip yet the brackets would still cover the old holes. I opted not to bother and returned the handle to Country Coach and will learn to live with the old handle. We resigned ourselves to the opinion that all of the little craze marks give it character! As was stated the screw holes are not all the same. Take some pictures.

I got one from the original manufacturer a few years back but they were no longer making my style (size) and I got one of the last. I seem to remember that there were other replacement handles but they did not have the CC logo.

The handle on my (soon-to-be-mine) 1998 Intrigue was broken when I got it.
I bought a generic acrylic rod from Amazon Prime for $21 bucks: Acrylic Round Rod, Transparent Clear, Standard Tolerance, (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FN14OI/ref=biss_dp_t_asn) I cut it to the correct length, have enough leftover for another handle, and it is solid & illuminates perfectly. It just doesn't say Country Coach on it...

Our grab handle was crazed for years and finally just snapped in the middle. This link http://www.rvsurplus.net/catalog/display.php?category_id=83 (http://www.rvsurplus.net/catalog/display.php?category_id=83) is where I purchased the replacement handle for our 2000 Allure. Only a little grinding on the ends and it fit perfectly and tight! They offer several different models depending on the length of your brackets. If memory serves me I think our Allure used E5500D. Best of all it is only $15.00 and works perfectly!
