DW needs back surgery and we are 'camped' in the coach in the hospital lot with 50 amp service. Drove one hour to get here. Plugged into 50 amp circuit and everything not on the inverter circuit came on (AC's, etc.). Nothing on the inverter circuits (fridge, TV's, most of the outlets in the coach) would work. Magnum remote was flashing 'overtemp fault.' Checked Magnum manual, re-set inverter but it kicks off in less than one minute and flashes 'overtemp.' I discovered if I reset the inverter and quickly shut off the charging feature at the remote, it will stay on and pass 110V thru to all the stuff. I let the inverter 'cool' for 3 hours, tried to turn on the charger and it kicks off.
Reset inverter, shut charger off, I have power to everything. I will be calling Magnum tomorrow for assistance.
For now, my house batteries are discharging and I do have a 6 amp automatic charger in the coach. Can I connect that charger to the house batteries to try and keep them up until I can get my other issue fixed? We will need to be here for three days at least.

Yes you can, but it probably will not keep up. It sounds like the fan in the inverter has failed/.

Gary, I would try the gen and see what that does, does your panel show 50amps? I would also try another service if possible. When on a limited supply the inverter auto shuts off the charger, I believe, also since you have shore power you should be ok for a while on the batteries, don't know the cond of your batteries, but should be ok. Magnum will give good tech service. I installed a 2812 in july.

My transfer switch went out and while waiting for the part, I plugged an extension cord with a power strip into the pedestal so I could make coffee. I am keeping up the 12V side with the generator and solar panels. This is an example of where the Norcold on propane is a plus.

X2 with Dometic too. We've stayed in some driveways where running the fridge on propane allowed us to run an AC while plugged into 20 AMP residential plug.

Marvin, tried the genset, no improvement. Magnum just goes into 'overtemp' fault. I am showing a full 50 amps on the energy management panel. I talked to Magnum yesterday. They had me do some diagnostics using the remote and determined that the problem is likely a failed FET board. The temp in the transistors exceeded their parameters when I activated the inverter charging function.
So, I had a 6 amp battery charger on board and have it hooked to the house batteries. However, this AM the batteries are down to 11.9 V so the little charger is not up to the task. My wife will have surgery today so I am stuck here but at least have good AC. I am going to ask the hospital maintenance folks today if they have a larger battery charger I can borrow today.

Thanks for the mention of imarine. I just called and ordered a new MS2812, ME-ARC50 panel, ME-AGS_N generator auto start, and ME-BMK monitor kit. The entire shebang was only $1918!
They were really awesome on the phone, really great customer service.
