Wonder if any other Allure owners of our vintage (2007) have had any issues with the galley slide (passenger side on our rig) groaning or creaking when moved. The slide works fine but it sure makes a lot of noise when it is moved. I've sprayed the two channels under the slide that I can get to from outside with dry lube but that has not helped. All the other slides make what I consider normal slide noises when used.

Gary

Do you open the door or a window before bringing in the slide. Our galley slide will shudder a little as it comes in but this is not consistent and the last time I brought it in there was nothing unusual. Also, if you turn off your auto level as some do, the coach may be out of level and could cause such a condition. When my bedroom slide started to act strange the slide had gotten out of adjustment and was not coming in square with the opening.

Lubing the rollers, located in the bays, with Kwik lube, Roadmaster lube or other suitable lube will eliminate the groan. The rollers have dried out. John Beach 06 Allure 31309

Coach has always been level when moving slide in or out. I open the door to relieve pressure when moving slides.
If I can't identify/fix the issue, I will be traveling west early next year. My choices would be to stop at HWH in Moscow, IA or keep going until we get to Junction City and let the folks at CC take a look at it. So, who better to deal with it...HWH or CC?

Gary,

The galley slide incorporates a fair amount of water supply, waste water drainage, and electrical wiring that must slide across a low friction surface when you extend and retract the slide. They can make "groaning"? noises if the sliding surface gets dirty or scuffed.
Also, the wiper seals on the front and rear walls of the slide can do the same.

Eliminate all of these before you drop $$$ in troubleshooting.
