Hi Folks,

I'm sure many of you have taken in the Mardi Gras festivities in February. Looks like there are several RV Parks on Chef Menteur Hwy.
What would you recommend for a park and how early do you have to place a reservation? Anyone taken a guided RV tour - which would you recommend?
Thanks,
Fred Kovol

I have not stayed at any of those parks but that hwy is in a high crime part of town. You might look into the state parks. There are two north of New Orleans about 25 miles. Riverside Fairview and Fontinblu (misspelled). On the West bank there is Bayou Signet (?spelling?) I've stayed at both of the ones to the north and they are both nice. But they do not have sewer just electric and water. The weekends fill up early so you might want to call sooner than later.

The two state parks on the North Shore are very good. (Mandeville & Madisonville area). I would stay away from the Chef.

The KOA in Slidell is also a good park. All will book far in advance.
