My first stop was to see the folks at Silver Leaf in Albany OR. I have the original VMS version on my Coach and for a hundred dollars I upgraded to version 4. A few new features have been added, haven't had time to play with them but I will. Wayne performed the upgrade in a very short time and you will see his help really was much appreciated when I get to the Henderson piece.
Next stop was Junction City; a member of this Forum (Totenard) recommended I check out CC at Junction City as they perform a nose to tail inspection for $200. I decided that this was well worth the money so we made an appointment and stopped in. Brett was the assigned Technician and did a great job he listened to all of our concerns, checked and corrected each item. Chris is also a good listener and he took the time to explain the Not-So-Cold refrigerator issue. He has installed a number of the Amish refrigerator and I didn't hear anything negative. The one thing CC could not do was making the people who I have the Extended Warranty with happy. I have an oil leak on my Cummins ISL400 and the Warranty people want a dye to be used to pinpoint the exact location of the leak. It seems the only Cummins people that are able to perform this work are in Bakersfield CA. While waiting for the repairs we spent time in the lounge and Ron Lee, popped in. I mentioned again the issue of the actual height of the Coach and I was unhappy with the fact that they wanted $25 to part with the information. Ron countered that he was he spent a great deal of money to buy the assets and he was in business to make money. I totally agree with him on this. After leaving I was wondering if a priority service could not be sent up. You would pay say, $250 for the year and no question goes unanswered. Also, I do believe that the folks at Country Coach monitor this forum. Check out the Deli on 6th for breakfast.
Stayed at the Seven Feathers in Canyonville, it's a very, very lovely place to stay.
As this trip was taking shape, one of the first things I had wanted to do was too get tires. Based on a number of good things I had read on this Forum was Henderson's in Grants Pass OR, was the place. I had posted a number of questions on the Forum and Smitty reached out and gave me some very good advice. The first thing he told me was the SmartTire had a battery and would not last forever, I was not aware of that. Since I have 3 fairly new Goodyear tires, he advised me to use them on the tag axle, since the can get chewed up. So, I bought 4 Michelins thru the FMCA program, put 2 on the front 2 on the outside of the dual axle. The Goodyear went on the rear and the inside of the dual. I contacted Henderson and Joshua was a huge help. He recommended that I go thru Industrial Tire (Roseburg, OR) to procure the tires, I did and was helped by Nicol and Rocky. The people that assisted us at Henderson Sean, Anthony, Don Robert and everyone was a huge help and did a great job. The only issue was programming the Smart Tire and Wayne from Silver leaf was able to walk them thru the procedure. I procured the SmartTire thru Bob Dickman, Junction City, OR. Had a few other things done in Grants Pass: MCU units suppose to stop air bag wobble, Balance Masters never balance again and 2 KONI front shocks.
So, after leaving Grants Pass, we stopped in to see some friends in Lakehead CA. After that we headed to Patterson, CA for a one-night stay before heading to Bakersfield. Well, we where on I580 and we where merging on to I5 when the front of the coach started to shake violently. We slowed down to 25 mph and limped into the Patterson RV Park, this happened late Friday night. The following Wednesday 9/25 we where able to get All Star Inc. Towing (great job) to tow us to R Mechanic in Livermore, CA where it sits. The Bakersfield trip will be a later discussion.

I read with interest what and who you had do the work...Then I read the last paragraph !!!!! Please inform the group what was discovered and a possible cause. Especially if it was one the the companies that worked on the front end of your coach...

I will, it looks like we won't know until the middle of this month. As they would say at IBM, we want to know the "root cause"

Just got the Coach back and the problem was: "found linkage to leveling valve nut had backed off and caused linkage to disconnect from leveling valve. Reposition linkage back onto leveling valve and ran system" Kudo's to Norm and all the people at R Mechanic in Livermore, CA

Walter,

Could this have been left loose by one of the people that worked on the coach prior to the problem?
