I'm curious is anyone here has replaced any fan/s on their heater craft heat exchangers. I believe I have a bad or shorted fan on one of the exchangers since the 20 amp 'heat exchanger' fuse blows whenever I try to use Zone 1 heat.
According to the folks at Aqua Hot, CC used Hydro Hot/Aqua Hot units but most always used Heater Craft exchangers in the coach. I am wondering if I can access the fans without completely removing the exchanger (draining coolant, etc.).

We bought a muffin fan at CompUSA (for computers) 12V and made a bracket for it. We picked one with higher CFM's. A bit more noisy than the Heater Craft but it's in the bedroom and we don't notice it. A whole lot cheaper than buying a new exchanger. Roger Berke sells replacement exchangers for the Heater Craft that are quieter. You should be able to access the exchanger through the access panel. Not necessary to drain coolant.

Donny, I know I can get most any type/size 12v axial fan at Grainger. Also, the exchanger under the bed is easy to get to and that one is fine. My Zone 1 exchangers are under the galley and behind the dash. I wanted to know if anyone has need to access either of those for fan replacement. When I talked to CC, they really could not tell me much more than I might have to disconnect the coolant lines and remove the exchanger to replace a fan. Before I decide on whether to do this myself or take it to the dealer shop, I wanted to get some idea of what I might get into.

Gary,

I have replaced three of the Heatercraft fans over the last few years. The fans are easily replaced without detaching the heat exchangers. The cabinet is held together with screws and the fan is attached to the cabinet with screws. If you have access to the assembly you can do the change in place or on the bench.
Good luck.

Just occurred that I can no longer access the messages. All I get now on when I try to open the messages is a circle with line through it.

Well, I finally went to the Yahoo site (not Country Coach Owners) and resigned in. WahLa ! Even though the Country Coach site showed my name as signed in I couldn't see messages or any files until I signed back in with the Yahoo site.
