We're planning to take our family out West this June to spend a few days in Disneyland and then head up to Yosemite. This is our first time traveling to California in our coach, so I was hoping some of you familiar with the area could provide some info. Here's what we have so far:
Staying 3 nights at DL at Anaheim RV Resort. Grandkids want to see the Pacific Ocean, so we'll stay another night there and take in Huntington Beach...From there, we'll head up to Yosemite. I have reservations so far as Yosemite Pines, but I understand we have a 23 mile drive in the Valley. Could not find anything closer with hookups, etc. Plus, another family is traveling with us, so they need a cabin. We really want to see the giant Sequoias...is it worth going to Sequoia NP or just stay within Yosemite at Mariposa Grove?
We're planning on spending 9 nights in the area, so would be curious as to what you think is worthwhile to see in that time frame....other than the time allotted for DL and Yosemite. Certainly will appreciate all ideas...you can contact me directly via email. Also, I see there are a lot of roads to avoid, so driving recommendations are needed. THanks so much.

Sequoia National Park is a great place to visit for grown ups and older kids. It might be a little beyond young ones. Of coarse half the fun is getting there. If it were my family, I would make arrangements to go in the Spring so you could see the Giant water falls and while the grass is still green. By June the falls have usually dried up and the grass has either turned brown or straw colored. The first time I was Yosemite and Sequoia, I was about 12 years old and my dad had made arrangements so I could join my Grandparents, too for a week long visit to the area. I had a great time, but wish now I had had a camera.
