FYI,

I had posted for info on why my remote stopped working on the door. Found corrosion on the four brass connection on the door jam and the four brass buttons on the door itself.

After using some CLR and a stiff nylon brush, (don't use a metal brush) remote lock works.

Kevin Waite suggested cleaning these brass connections often.

Thanks for the preventative maintenance info sharing Jock! I'll be checking and cleaning mine soon:)!

Our 04 Allure setup may be a bit different, but when ours stopped, it was a physical break of the wire inside of the door. So, if just cleaning the connections does not get people going, digging deeper and tracking the wires would be another area to check.

Best to all,
