Hi All,

Me and my wife just bought yesterday a 2003 Allure 40 Ft 3 Slide Tag axle Has the Cummins 370 ILS / with Allison Transmission.

We simply fell in Love with it, and purchased it on impulse. I hope we did the right thing. I know every Coach has its good years, and bad, just like good set up and bad.
We drove it home 500 Miles without a problem. It has been winterize, so we did not use hydro system. Simply ran Generator with heat pumps.
I tell you what, it tracked, and drove like a dream. Loved the jake brake. I have owned about 12 Rvs, this is my first high end (or high end to me) coach.
If anyone can tell me maintenance, and or things to keep an eye on would be greatly appreciated .
I did notice the LP gauge is telling me 3/4 full. I tried to light the LP Refrigerator, but had no luck.. It just kept clicking. I tried the stove, no such luck, Just clicked, I check the outside valve on tank and turned it counter clock wise, it was open. I left the stove on for a few to see if I can drain the air out. But nothing. Any advice? Anything I should look out for?

Thanks to all, for any help
Bob

Bob:

There will be an LP Detector at the bottom of fridge, make sure this is turn on so it opens the gas valve at the LP tank. Feel free to give me a call.

Just fyi, I have an identical coach (2003 40' Allure w/ tag and 370 Cummins) to yours, and have had it about four years. I have worked through some minor issues with mine, but have concluded it is the very best motorhome I could possibly have chosen. I absolutely love it, and it gets better the longer I own it. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions that I may be able to help you with. Kevin Waite is a good resource, and I agree with his assessment that the alarm below the fridge may be the simple problem. I had the very same thing happen once with mine. Happy motoring....

There is a sniffer panel at floor level near the cooktop or stove that has a switch that turns on and off the lp to the cook top, water heater and refrigerator. I don't know if you have the diesel heat option? If you do there will be switches on the panel that controls the genset and inverter also!

Hey Bruce,

I'm thinking the same thing.. Love this coach.. Just the 500 miles was a pleasure to drive not a chore. I did have 2 questions for you,
1. What kinda fuel miles do you get? I had some hills to climb, and pushed her a little at 75mph.. I seem to be getting 7.5 MPG. What has been your experience?
2. Next to my Jake brake Switch( which I love), there is another switch that looks like a foot on an excelerator peddle. Some sort of throttle switch. What is it, and when do I use it?
Thanks for responding on my post.

Robert: Thatis probably your gas/brake peddle adjust switch. It moves them in/out for your favored driver position. I have an 07 Inspire 360.

Thanks guys. You were all right, It was the LP sniffer. Turned it on, and Bam everything LP worked. Refrig got cold in about 1.5 hours. Wow much faster then my safari. FYI I found the peddle switch is to turn the RPMs up for cold weather start up, warm up period. Any other information I can get from any other allure owners would be great

Check to see if the CO2 sniffer under the refrigerator has been turned off. That turns off all propane to the coach.
